Leslie Aldrich, M.D.

Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Michigan Medical School Leslie Aldrich, M.D. is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology. Dr. Aldrich has been on staff at the University of Michigan since 1989. Dr. Aldrich is also the Medical Director of the Ambulatory Surgery and Medical Procedures Center at East Ann Arbor and holds the title of Assistant Associate Chief for the GI Western Region Satellites. Additionally, she serves on the Ambulatory Care Information System Committee at the University of Michigan. Dr. Aldrich completed her medical education at Rush University in Chicago. Following medical school she came to Ann Arbor where she completed her internship, residency and fellowships in Endocrinology and Metabolism and Gastroenterology.     

Chad Cook

Chief Information Security Officer, Lime Brokerage Chad Cook has an extensive background in information security that includes both product engineering and technology services. In his current role as Director of Technology Operations & Information Security at Lime Brokerage, an international financial technology company, he manages the high-performance trading platform operations including software engineering, information technology and support teams and is one of the lead architects of their financial technology. He also manages and leads corporate security including compliance, datacenters, systems, networks, applications and architects security across all company products. Mr. Cook has also held engineering and security positions at BBN, @stake, GTE Internetworking and Infolibria and was the chief security architect at Forum Systems and Zetari, Inc. He has developed technology security strategies and policies, has analyzed and developed product security and cryptographic frameworks, and has lead information security assessment engagements. He also architected and developed security technologies for award-winning networking products. Mr. Cook has applied for nine patents in the areas of security analysis, modeling techniques, and encryption processing acceleration. He is an internationally-published author on security topics, having contributed to two books, Maximum Security, 3d and 4th editions and has also written articles for Symantec's SecurityFocus.com. A sought after speaker, Mr. Cook spoke at the 2004 NATO forum on Business and Security in Berlin, Germany and presented the keynote address at the 2004 Digital Detroit Security Summit. Mr. Cook completed his B.A. in Psychology, Sociology, and Computer Science at the College of the Holy Cross.     

Joe Saul, J.D.

Corporate Security Officer, The Healthcare Business of Thomson Reuters Mr. Saul has focused on privacy and security issues in information technology since 1994, with special interest in the privacy and security of health information. He presently serves as Corporate Security Officer with The Healthcare Business of Thomson Reuters. While at the University of Michigan Health System, Mr. Saul was responsible for researching, analyzing, drafting and implementing policy on a range of compliance issues including privacy and security (based on HIPAA and other laws and regulations), conflict of interest, and reporting of health information to government agencies. He was also responsible for coordinating the investigation of privacy and security incidents involving health information and for providing education on privacy and security issues facing the Health System. His consistent focus was explaining complex regulatory regimes to non-legal audiences and developing policies and procedures that work effectively within regulatory requirements. Mr. Saul completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Cellular & Molecular Biology. He completed his legal education with a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School where he was a contributing editor of the Michigan Law Review. He has also attained a Graduate Certificate from the University of Michigan in Gaming & Simulation.  

Neal R. Weinberg, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Director of Medical Informatics, Integrated Health Associates Neal Weinberg, M.D., F.A.A.P., is a practicing pediatrician and the Director of Medical Informatics for Integrated Health Associates (IHA). He has been a primary care pediatrician for 29 years and is the founding partner of Pediatric Healthcare Associates, a 13 physician group with offices in Ann Arbor and Canton, Michigan. As Director of Medical Informatics for IHA, he has worked closely with the team implementing the NextGen Electronic Medical Record across IHA’s 133 physicians and 40 allied health professionals in 26 sites in southeastern Michigan. Dr. Weinberg has been influential in the creation and development of the Ann Arbor Area Health Information Exchange (A3HIE). This exchange permits IHA and NextGen specialty practices in the Ann Arbor area to electronically exchange and store patient demographic, insurance, and medical information The Exchange is considered to be a community resource that will benefit the health of the community. Dr. Weinberg serves on the boards of the A3HIE and the IHA Governing Board and is a member of the IHA finance committee. He also serves as the Site Medical Director for Pediatric Healthcare Associate’s Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti office and is the Treasurer and a Board member for the Michigan Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Weinberg completed his medical education at Wayne State University and his residency at Children's Hospital of Michigan.
