White Pine Systems is a privately held company based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Its flagship product, SPINNphr, the Secure Personal Information and Notification Network, is a low cost, fully configurable, private-labeled, Personal Health Record solution that improves communication between patients, healthcare providers and the patient’s extended network of official and unofficial care givers.

Built to connect with the Microsoft^© HealthVault^TM personal health information platform, SPINNphr bridges the gap between EMR systems used by providers and emerging PHR platforms to achieve the promise of patient and family-centered chronic disease management.

How we make money

We make money by selling SPINNphr Memberships to people. We sell individual Memberships directly through the www.SPINNphr.com Web site. We also enter into agreements with hospitals, physicians’ groups, insurance companies or employers that let them offer SPINNphr through their own, privately labeled Web sites.

We also expect to sell related products and services through the SPINNphr Store. We will sell bracelets, zipper tags and other devices that will help identify you in an emergency. Other products will include devices and services that help you manage your healthcare, such as glucose meters which can not only measure your glucose level but which can also transmit that information into your SPINNphr account. 

For healthcare providers, we make money by selling services that allow them to offer their own privately labeled, configured PHR solution. Our services include Scope of Work analysis, design, implementation and training. 

We also make money by selling services to events like races, youth sports associations and cruises - anytime a group of people come together for an event or a series of events.

Today, we do not accept advertisements on our Web sites, but we might do so in the future. If we do, we will tell you by publishing a statement on our home page. If we do decide to accept advertisements, we expect they will be banner ads or block ads which are not targeted based on personal health information in your account or record.

Patient advocacy

We are committed to supporting patients, their families and patient advocacy organizations. We believe that patient advocacy organizations play a vital role in our healthcare system. Therefore, we offer free sponsorships to any patient advocacy organization. You can link to SPINNphr directly from your web site. For those who enter SPINN through a sponsor’s site, we will feature that sponsor’s name and branding within SPINN to reinforce the relationship.
