SPINN Patient Engagement Platform Version 3.2 Achieves
2014 Modular Certification from Drummond, for both ambulatory and inpatient use.

The SPINN Patient Engagement Platform version 3.2 has been tested and certified under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. This EHR software is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.

This EHR module is 2014/2015 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Cost and Limitations

The SPINN Patient Engagement Platform, version 3.2 (“SPINN”) is certified to the 314.e.1 “view, download, and transmit to a 3rd party” certification criterion. The purpose of these features is to allow consumers (patients or clients) to receive personal health information from their providers, to view that information and to manage that information for themselves and others for whom they have authority. These features contribute to our larger goal of extending evidence-based and best practices beyond the walls of the clinic or facility to better engage people and promote care collaboration.

In addition, SPINN is certified to the 314.e.3 “secure messaging” certification criteria. The SPINN secure messaging system is intended for situations where either a client does not already have a certified secure messaging system or where a group of providers such as an Accountable Care Organization desires to have one secure messaging system that can exchange messages on behalf of all provider members of the organization.

SPINN consists of one platform that can be configured and branded for each client. It is offered as a series of modules. Eligible Professionals and Eligible Hospitals can license one or more modules which they can make available to their consumers. We charge annual subscription fees for each module based on the number of consumer or patient accounts. We do not charge based on the number of staff or professional users. Since not all of our clients are required to report their use of certified technology, we treat Meaningful Use reporting as a separate module that may be licensed on a per-person-per-year basis. We treat the SPINN secure messaging system as another module that can be licensed.

In addition, SPINN will generally require one-time service fees for requirements analysis, configuration and integration. On occasion, we may charge for other professional services or training with respect to non-standard work flow requirements for these certified products. Other than the annual subscription fees, we do not charge for SaaS hosting, maintenance, upgrades or support. Clients are required to enter into a contract lasting at least one year.

SPINN uses Microsoft HealthVault, a third party service, to deliver certain of the features relating to the above certification. Microsoft has not charged our clients for this service. Our contracts incorporate the agreement with Microsoft. We are not aware of any other technical or practical limitations associated with these capabilities.
